I'm 22 and he is 27. I started college last spring and that was in the plans we had. He was going to write his book series and be an author, but as most people know when you're an author you should have a backup in case you don't get published or your books just don't do that well. When we started planning our lives together we did not think about that. I was going to go to school, have our first child this year, he was going to write his book, I would graduate in a few years and become a teacher, move to the country and have a farm. Just a simple life right? Until now.
My husband has realized he doesn't want to be a manager at our grocery store for the rest of his life if his book does not work, which I totally understand and don't blame him at all. So he's finally decided to get back to school. To be a veterinarian. That's a heavy work load and almost 6 years of it. Maybe 4-5 years if he really loads himself up. But the real kicker is, if we don't have a child soon we may not be able to because of a condition he has.
So so we are still doing everything the same except adding 6 years of schooling on him. And I recently quit my job and will soon be selling Party Lite. So we will both be working, going to school, and taking care of a baby. Thank goodness for online classes that I can take. Also thank God for amazing family that wants nothing more than to see us have a great life and make something of ourselves.
With all of these changes life can be pretty tough, but when you love each other, have a good support system, and talk about everything, it can all feel less crazy.
